Customer Reviews

My two cats won’t eat these vitamins! They sniff at them and then turn away. When I crumble them up and try to hide them in their food, they ignore the food all day and won’t touch it. I tried to hide a vitamin in with other treats, Temptations, but they ate the treats and left the vitamin. I would have liked these vitamins since they have so many items in them that are good for cats ! Why can’t the manufacturers make them tasty and smell good for cats like Chicken? Now I have to look for some other brand – umph! EXTRA NOTE: When returning these vitamins by an Amazon scheduled UPS home pickup, the truck drove right past our house but left a note saying he had made one attempt to pick up the box. We were home all the time! He made no effort to go to the door and ring the doorbell! Perhaps Amazon should complain to UPS about this driver.

New recipes and ‘product lines’ for Pet Naturals is horrible. Stick with the old stuff, my cat actually ate them and had a wonderful response to them. These new ones aren’t even consumable, cat won’t touch it, gags at the taste of it, not to mention the ingredients have changed to alot of crap fillers. Very disappointing!

My kitties used to LOVE-I mean go crazy for this vitamin; now they sniff it and run. I am baffled! Did they change the formula?I also give them “Hip and Joint”, and “U-T Support” by the same company which I have been supporting for years. It seems to be touch and go–there is something about the odor or texture that is different to the cats. I now give them to a stray that stays for dinner! I wish this great company would explore what is happening. Their products were great, but something changed. I wrote to Pet Naturals of Vermont and they offered a refund, but I just wish they could “fix” this.

My cat has had IBD for 2 years. He often has bouts of vomiting, weight loss, hair loss etc. He has been taking these for a little over a month and I cannot believe the change in him!! His coat is becoming shiny again and growing back, he hasn’t vomited, and he’s put on a little weight!! He wasn’t a fan of them at first, but I started breaking them in pieces and he gobbles them up!! You certainly can’t beat the price!

I am sure that these are great for my cats (4), unfortunately, they soon become hard as rocks. I have tried several packages with the same issue. My cats won’t touch them at that point. Should come with directions to put them in a sealed container with a piece of bread (like brown sugar) to keep them softer. Or, the seller need to let consumer know how to dissolve them when they get really hard. Otherwise, they are a waste of time and money.

I picked up a stray cat—who now lives with me—and she had some digestive issues including frequent flatulences and diarrhea. I figured I would try alternatives before going to the vet and found this along with another PetNatural product called ‘Clean Scat’ and began using both products in addition to changing her diet to a higher quality dry food. This combination seems to be working quite well. I give her one ‘Daily Digest’ in the morning and two ‘Clean Scat,’ one in the morning and one at night. The diarrhea has completely disappeared and her flatulences have been reduced tremendously. She is still having some flatulences, but I believe this is more to do with her bad habit of nearly inhaling her food and thus swallowing some air in the mix. It can be hard for them to readjust once they’ve started out as strays and were living in a situation where they are literally starving.

Apparently cats can be allergic to Brewer’s Yeast, this product’s main ingredient. My cat was happy to eat the treats. He was not happy to barf his brains out 5 minutes later. Then I read that it could be toxic to cats.

These smell very “vitaminy”..lol My cats didn’t seem to touch them for the first week or 2 unless they ran out of food and HAD to eat them. However, I feel like they’ve been eating them just fine. So i feel like they just needed to get used to them. I have just completed my first bottle of these split between 2 cats. I’m not sure if they seem healthier but I’ll keep trying them out .

My cats absolutely love these. They can’t wait for their daily vitamin every morning. It’s chewy and the smell reminded me of vegemite the first time I opened the container. And sure enough, it’s main ingredient is brewer’s yeast! My cats are very happy with it.

My cat previously loved these chews, however Pet Naturals unexpectedly changed the formula and now the new formula makes my cat vomit. The company changed the packaging, but did not make it clear that these are not the same as before (it should state it clearly on the package). There are cats with food allergies and sensitivities and customers should be able to trust that a brand will be forthcoming with ingredient changes. The ingredients are very different and some amounts/doses have changed (I’ve attached a side-by-side of the old (left) and new (right) ingredients). I am not going to buy these again.

I was hopeful this would help my 17-yr old male cat who suffers from arthritis and back pain, his back is very sensitive. The Vet had prescribed a pain medication a year or so ago but after trying various forms (chewable and liquid) he started to refuse them. I did not like having to give him pain meds and was hoping a natural product would help him feel better. However, within an hour of taking one Pet Natural chewable my cat vomited twice. He would just sit on the floor and obviously did not feel well. He usually drinks a lot of water throughout the day, but for the next almost 24 hours he would not eat or drink anything. When he finally started eating it was very little, and very little water. It was probably a full 42 hours before he was back to his old self. These will definitely go in the trash.

The day after I gave my cat her first one of these treats she pooped blood. Since this was the only thing that had changed I didn’t feed another one to her until two weeks later and again she pooped blood the next day. Took her to the vet and she was perfectly healthy otherwise, they suggested watching her and discontinuing these new treats and she has been absolutely fine since. Could be a coincidence but she only pooped blood twice in her life and it was after eating these treats both times..Cannot recommend these less and I would give them negative stars if I could for making my cat sick.

I have a foster cat who would not eat. Long story short, on top of anxiety and depression, he had a big hairball issue. I exhausted all options and finally tried these. He ate them and slowly began eating kibble and wet food. They completely turned him around! I would give 5+ stars for him! Unfortunately, I have another foster who has hairballs and he completely turns his nose up at these. I will continue using these for my big guy. They are working great for one of my kits!

My cat would vomit hairballs, no matter what I gave him, for months when I first adopted him from the shelter. He’s 5 years old, healthy weight, and he never vomited food, just hairballs. Started him on this product three months ago, and only one hairball since! It’s truly amazing!

My cats are family and when they are sick, I feel just awful! The last few weeks, as it has been incredibly hot here in Texas, we have noticed that our two longhaired cats are shedding a bit more. With this comes furballs and with that tummy issues. I always want to be proactive to avoid a major blockage (we had a cat once that had a terrible hairball blockage) so we keep them on mineral oils as a supplement to help reduce hairballs. I came across these treats though and decided to give them a try. The cats both get one treat at breakfast and dinner with their meals and they just go crazy for them! Both cats eat their ‘dessert’ first and then look up at me for more. We have only been using them for about a week and have noticed that Izzy, our cat that usually had tummy troubles, seems to be eating a little better and is looking shiny and as soft as can be. These treats seem to be a wonderful addition to our home.

Cat doesn’ t like the the flavor at all. Every time I try to give her one, she tries to bury it.

Great supplement for elderly cats.Used to be more palatable but still my cat eat it with some effort.

Great supplement for elderly cats.Used to be more palatable but still my cat eat it with some effort.

We have two cats – one is 15 and the other is 6. Our older cat has always been anxious and skittish ever since she was a kitten, but she’s also been an outdoor cat while she lived at my parents house, and was able to handle her anxiety effectively in a natural environment. When I moved away I took her with me, and she was forced to become an indoor cat. Her anxiety skyrocketed and despite every attempt and trick nothing was working. We tried a more natural diet/food, more toys and interaction, pheromone sprays, separating the cats, changing litter, and nothing worked. As they aged, out you get cat began to feed off of or older cat’s anxiety and started getting aggressive. And while it wasn’t to the point of needing to rehome him, it only increased stress levels and caused all sorts of issues, like peeing outside the litter box, spraying issues, fighting over food, etc.I finally found these treats and decided to try them out. I had tried everything else and figured if this doesn’t work I’ll talk to the vet YET again and see what else can be done.I gave them each a treat with their dinner, and monitored their reactions closely for a couple of days. Not much happened, although my younger cat seemed to chill out a bit in the beginning. Overall the treats didn’t work immediately, but I stuck with it. I figured maybe it’s more of a cumulative thing, and I was right. I bought the treats in December and it’s now February, and the difference is incredible! My older cat no longer hides all day in a back corner of the second floor – instead, she goes up there to take her morning nap and comes down in the afternoon to relax with the family. She used to slink around the edges of the room to get to the kitchen for her food, and wouldn’t eat until my younger cat was gone. Now, she begs for treats, sprawls out in the sun, plays with toys (which she never did before!), and even curls up on the couch next to my younger cat to hang out with me. The younger one has even stopped chasing her around – now all he does is sniff her butt or ears and move off to find another place to hang out. The change is incredible and the stress-peeing has completely stopped!Long story short: this stuff is worth it, especially if you have tension between cats and stress issues. We never truly realized how much anxiety my older cat has until we started these. I can’t recommend these enough!

I have several rescues and they have a designated nap time everyday so these are awesome for relaxing them prior to nap time. I always keep 3-5 jars on hand as I could not go without them

This might not work perfectly for every pet, but it definitely works with mine! I give one chew to my 6.5 lb cat ~20 minutes before I need to do something stressful, like nail trimming, vet, or travel. It doesn’t put her to sleep, it just makes her calm, like the bottle says. If the stressful event doesn’t take very long (like a quick nail trim or something) she does go to sleep afterwards, but I mean she’s a cat so that might’ve been on her schedule anyways. I don’t think she’s caught on to the fact that they do anything to her; she still likes the flavor and gobbles them up.

I have a 20 year old cat (that’s 95 in cat years)… and in spite of eating non-stop he is frail and thin. I purchased the vitamins to supplement his diet. They smell great but he turned his nose up-wouldn’t even try it. My overweight 4 year old cat and my dog both love them though…

Cat doesn’ t like the the flavor at all. Every time I try to give her one, she tries to bury it.

Great supplement for elderly cats.Used to be more palatable but still my cat eat it with some effort.

I purchased these by accident. I usually purchase the chewable tablets which have worked exceptionally well. The chews are excellent in the ingredients. My canine daughter is allergic to beef, so MARINE-sourced Glucosamine, PORCINE-sourced Chondroitin and DUCK flavour is perfect! The chews work (her limp is much less pronounced), not to mention that my aging girl devours them in the most un-lady-like fashion… BUT they arrived stuck together in the bottle in single clump. The looser chews will come loose when you shake the bottle, this also alerts the furkid that a treat is imminent (so you don’t have to HUNT for your furkid). Over time, the clump became more stubborn and I had to stick my finger in the bottle to break chews loose as needed (getting chews-stuff caked under my nails too – which further maintains the furkid’s attention and incessant desire to like my now slimy fingers). By the time I was about 2/3 through with the bottle, I had one really hard clump in the bottle that I just had to sit down and separate all the remaining individual chews. It seems to me that if there was a moisture absorbing dessicant-thingie in the bottle, it might help. In summary, I won’t be buying the chews again any time soon (they’d still be okay in a pinch), but will make sure that I do buy the Pet Naturals Hip & Joint Chewable TABLETS.

My cat is 17 and is definitely slowing down. He gets around fine, but when laying down or standing up, it looks like he’s in pain a bit. I think it’s really helped him – it doesn’t look as painful.WARNING – I thought if one made him feel better, two would make him a rockstar! Don’t do it. He was pacing the house and kept jumping up on my desk all day while I was trying to work. He was completely fine! I just don’t want to deal with a kitten anymore lol!

I’ve been using these with my cat family for about 15 yrs. When one of my cats seemed like she was having some difficulty climbing, I gave them a try. At 22 she was still climbing up on furniture and counter tops moving agilely. Since then I have given them to two other cats who haven’t stopped moving freely. The treats. Just be tasty as well because they will try to steal the package.

Could be a coincidence but she only pooped blood twice in her life and it was after eating these treats both times..Cannot recommend these less and I would give them negative stars if I could for making my cat sick.

My 2 indoor cats love this treat/probiotic. I cannot find it locally or on most websites, such as Chewy, etc. So I buy it here, but the price is very high for what you get. I will be looking for a substitute.

Our 50# tripod ended up with a hot spot on a front leg. He was addicted to licking it. A trip to the vet and a prescription later it was still there and he was still licking. Vet said “Well he’ll likely have it for life and you’ll have to put the cone of shame on him occasionally to let it heal up before he licks it bad again.” That stinks. Changed to a grain free food and that helped some but he was still constantly licking and irritating it. Found there and gave them a try. 2 a day and no more hot spot! Worth a try for the cost!

We usually use these probiotics every night for our two dogs, but lately maybe because of the heat in shipment they smell spoiled upon opening them, a sweet & sour smell. We had only used a few from one container and the morsels were already getting black specks on them. I stopped using them! Not sure if we should buy these anymore…called the company but just get a voicemail, etc. We do buy Nutri Vet probiotics from Amazon so I guess we will use them from now on? I have always used a lot of Pet Naturals frm Vermont! whats going on?!

My elderly dog had elevated liver enzymes and was having bouts of vomiting. It was recommended she be put on probiotics to see if supplements would help. After research, I chose these. She got them twice a day and the vomiting subsided a great deal. I had her on these for almost a year until her liver disease couldn’t be managed any longer. These really helped my dog the last year of her life and I’d use these again. I recommend trying these before reaching for pharmaceuticals. They worked for my girl for a long time.

Our 50# tripod ended up with a hot spot on a front leg. He was addicted to licking it. A trip to the vet and a prescription later it was still there and he was still licking. The Pet Naturals I was ordering is no longer available- and I figured it was because packaging changed….so I found this listing and it’s the same price as what I was ordering, hip and joint for dogs, so I ordered…..this is not what I wanted. The teats/pills are tiny. It says for dogs of all sizes but I would have to give my 50lb dog many of these per day to get the right dosage, and therefore this package is not going to last nearly as long as what I was buying and it costs the same.I love the Pet Naturals Hip & Joint in the treat form (not the big pill form that comes in the bottles) so just buyer beware- read the packaging carefully before ordering.

Not what I expected! I have been ordering the chews for large dogs for quite a while and when I tried to reorder it wasn’t available and this popped up as a replacement. Like the other reviewer, I had assumed it was a packaging change or an improved version of what I had been purchasing. These were the same price as the ones previously marked for large dogs. In my opinion, the Glucosamine and Chondroitin are the key ingredients. The original formula had 750 mg of Glucosamine and 400 mg Chondroitin per 2 chews and the new formula has 200 mg of Glucosamine and 75 mg Chondroitin per 2 chews. The original formula came in a bag of 45 and the new formula comes in a bag of 60 but it takes approximately 4 times the servings of the new size to equal 1 serving from the old formula!! Not happy, feel cheated!

This product is wonderful. My patches turned12 on April 30th 2020 and this product has helped him retain his youthful vigor and ability to play for hours at a time. In fact once we start playing and I start throwing his toy he wants to play tug and chase for hours. .. I stopped giving it to him for a month and I could see a total difference.. he suddenly got much slower and it seemed he was struggling to run as fast as he did before and he began to slow down a lot and was struggling to keep up with me even when I would walk slowly. now that I’ve been giving it to him again for the full month of May he’s back to his active , running and leaping, and it shows in his eyes and in his everyday actions as he is so much happier when he’s like this.. I am so thankful for this product.. by the way I want to recommend that people not give their dogs supplements that they don’t necessarily need at the time. I was giving my dog some cardio vascular supplements and supplements for cognitive issues, , both as preventatives only, because he didn’t seem to be having issues in those areas. all I know is he became very weak and wobbly on a 24/7 basis and I was very worried that I was seeing him entering his last days.. so I stopped the cardiovascular and cognitive supplements, but i continued with this hip and joint and his glandex and breathe well, which I’ve been giving him for nearly a year now.. the cardio basculer and cognitive supplements, I began giving him more recently..but have stop giving him those as I said .. he’s back to normal now ..He’s doing wonderful on the hip and Joint and there’s no way I’m going to interrupt his schedule again… you can’t beat the price and the quality of the product is simply Amazing..

My oldest boxer has terrible, painful gas that makes it so he can’t eat. You can hear his intestine squealing and gurgling. I’ve tried yogurt and other home remedies with no good results. This stuff is amazing! He has only had the painful, loud gas maybe 3 times in the month he was taking Gentle Digest. For him, it’s not 100%, but having gas 3 times a month versus 4 to 5 times a week is a win in my book! I am going to try one other product in hopes of getting complete relief for him, but I have a feeling I’ll be back for this. One major plus about this one is that he eats it with no problem and he is a very picky eater. I just toss it in his food dish and it’s gone. (3 “treats” a day).

My adopted Lab/Pit mix started showing signs of an irregular bowel. I know probiotics is very good for digestive systems so I thought this would be the best place to start on getting Moose, my Lab/Pit mix, back on track. Luckily he is not a picky eater and will take anything if he thinks it’s a treat, so he took these with no hesitation. The scent does give the impression it would be a very tasty treat.Moose has been taking these pro-biotic soft chews for a little over a week and he has had much easier bowel movements. He takes the bite size chews with no hesitation and seems to think they are a special treat which is great. The many benefits of the pro-biotic will be a bonus for us.If my review was helpful please remember to click the button to mark it as helpful! Should not have bought into the “dog and cat” marketing. for this product. Cats don’t normally gulp everything put in front of them, like dogs do.So, this has got to be a dog product to get this many positive reviews. Two cats. Neither is particularly fussy. One, not at all. They had zero interest. The one who eats most anything designed for a cat did sniff at it for 30 seconds. When pets reject a 5-buck or even 7-buck product, I shrug. For $15, that product better get more than a sniff. This one didn’t. If you’re producing a $15 product and marketing it to cat owners, you need to do way better than these guys.

My cat is fairly easy going and will usually eat just about anything I put in front of him. I was previously giving him chewable cosequin from Nutramax, but for whatever reason, that product is out of stock every single online store that I checked… So I took a chance and bought this. He ate these just fine for the first couple of days, but then he started picking them up with his mouth and then spitting them out without chewing… and now he’ll ignore them completely unless I miss them in with a couple of hours regular (non-medicinal) treats. Unfortunately, since my car doesn’t speak English, I can’t ask him why he doesn’t like them… But I suspect that it’s because these are dry and kinda hard, especially compared to the chews I used to get. To add insult to injury, these are almost twice the price of the Nutramax brand. Trying a different brand next month that my little guy will hopefully like better. 🤷‍♂️

Our vet told us to use Cosaquin. He wouldn’t eat the powder on his food. We tried the chewable one and he didn’t eat it. So we tryed Pet Naturals. He doesn’t like them very much either but we break one up in his food and he eats it. It seems to make his back legs easier to move. He has bad arthritis. We like what we get from Pet Naturals.

Wonderful product! Our 14 year old cat couldn’t climb the stairs or jump onto the couch anymore and never wanted to go outside. After eating these treats (which she loves enough to do tricks for!), she has new life! It’s like she’s 5 years younger. She is loving life again and is her old self again joining in with the family, climbing stairs, jumping on the couch, and even wandering around the yard. It’s a miracle.

I have two cats. One absolutely loves these hairball remedy chews and would eat the whole bag if he could! My other cat takes one sniff and walks away. Still trying to encourage this one. The ingredients are all natural – unlike the previous hairball treats I was using before trying these. I’m hoping my one cat comes around. Seems so good for them and will keep the hairball situation under control. Would have given five stars if both cats had loved them.I am adding the following to this review after using this product for several weeks now. My one cat is also starting to eat this after some coaxing. What a difference using all natural ingredients make. Not only has it taken care of hairballs – no throw up has occurred whatsoever! And they were having “accidents” with a previous hairball product I tried. I am also using an all natural food product for them as well. I have gone from throw up accidents almost daily to nothing – none! If your cat won’t eat it – try different methods of encouragement – it will be worth it.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Okay, I gotta say, I wasnt expecting a whole lot from this product. My Sarah is a hair ball factory. Every day, sometimes twice a day she would vomit a hairball. I had to place protective coverings on my bed and furniture while I was a work! It’s been a week now, and absolutely NO hairballs. Granted, sometimes I have to crush the treats and mix them in her wet food, but most times she eats them. I dont really know how it works, but it works for Sarah!

My cat loves these! I use them because he has long fur and sometimes throws up hairballs.

They didn’t like my last bad review so they would not post it… so I’ll try some different wording:See all the other reviews on here where people are saying there is something wrong with these? It’s still the case in 2020 as I have been giving these to my cat with UP problems for about a year now and my local supplier ran out so I ordered it from Amazon. There is something seriously wrong with these – they are hard as stones. My one cat (who normally loves them) refused to eat it and the other one started choking because he could not break it apart and ended up trying to swallow it whole.Something is not right with these. They are supposed to be kept in a cool/dry place and they seem like they were left out in the sun to dry out. People have been saying this since 2019 and it’s still the case in 2020.

I had bought these several years ago for my male cat who had crystals alot. They were nice and soft. He eventually refused to eat them, so I stopped ordering them. He is doing well on another regimine. My little old kitty girl of almost 15 has some bladder flare ups due to her age. Vet said it is not uncommon for senior kitties. I thought I would try them for her to help soothe her bladder. The first thing I noticed is that they are rock hard. I had to break them up for her, but after her trying them 3 times, and she vomited up the hard pieces right after eating them every time, I requested a refund. I don’t know what they changed. They were not like hard rocks before, and smelled like cranberry. I have tried another treat for her that she likes and keeps down. Unfortunate because it is a good company and made in USA

We bought these as a replacement for our favorite two brands, since we couldn’t find either. It seems to work just as well, but it’s more than twice as much per treat.I have two cats highly prone to urinary tract and bladder infections. I cannot even put anything like Frontline/Advantage (I think those are the brands) on them. The active component of the flea medicines I’ve used were nephrotoxic – which means it damages the kidneys. I’ve never noticed a problem with it until these two siblings. They urinated blood and had problems with infections until I started buying urinary tract treats of a different brand with similar ingredients. (I do not buy the flea medicine anymore. I had no idea it was nephrotoxic until this happened.)I do like that this brand includes vitamins that the others do not. The critters are getting older and a supplement is a good thing. They seem to like it well enough. They eat it without coaxing.Overall, it seems good. It’s just too much in comparison to our favorite brands.

PLEASE don’t tell my 4 cats that these are good for them!To my dismay, all 4 LOVE these and try to crowd each other out for their daily dose (oops, treat!)!After not quite a month, we think we’re seeing improvement in their furriness.UPDATE: THESE LAST TWO CONTAINER I RECEIVED ARE SO DRY AND HARD THE CATS ARE HAVING TROUBLE EATING THEM! IT’S AWFUL!I’M AFRAID THEY CHOKE, EVEN AFTER I BREAK THEM INTO SMALLER PIECES!

We have a brother/sister pair of cats who shed like it’s their full time job. The girl cat is 8.5 lbs and rather petite, and the boy cat is a beefy 13 lbs. We were getting tired of encountering “fur-cigars” every morning from one or both of them, so we thought to start them on a hairball treatment. After all, it can’t be comfortable horking up that junk.We tried this formula – and my goodness, the cats LOVE it. We didn’t go with the short-term high-dosage direction, but rather with the maintenance dose. That means we give each of them 1 chew in the morning and one in the evening, and allowed this chew to replace some of their other treats. In the month that we’ve been using this product, we haven’t seen a single hairball, and it doesn’t seem to be affecting them negatively in other ways. They still poop well, eat well, and it doesn’t seem to be giving them any GI issues. The only thing I would suggest is that if your cat is smaller / petite, or if your beefier cat decides to inhale everything like a furry hoover, you might want to break the chew up into multiple pieces. I worry that they might not chew it well enough and get it stuck in their throat. The side benefit is that they think you’re giving them multiple treats!Bottom line: excellent value for the money, the furbabies love the taste, it doesn’t seem to harm them, and we are furball free in our house!

Had a sample of this – little packet of 15 or so chews – and the cat LOVED them. Ordered this as we got low. Cat will not eat them. Licked a couple of times and then walked away. Something is different. These seem harder too. He wouldn’t even try them when I broke them apart. UGH! And he’s my long-haired cat so I was thrilled to find a hairball treat he would eat – now it’s back to the drawing board.
