When we talk about milk in general, cats get tummy aches and diarrhea from them. People produce lactase enzymes inside them which enables them to digest the milk. But most cats do not have this privilege. They do not produce lactase enzymes that is why they get an upset tummy after drinking almond milk. 

But there are some cats who do produce little amounts of lactase enzymes in their body which helps them digest a few drops of milk. Almond milk does not consist of lactose so your cats may digest it alright but they can still get tummy upset if their stomach can not handle the milk. Some cats can be allergic to almonds which prohibits them from digesting it or getting it out of the system. This can lead to vomiting too. 

It is best to first keep an eye on your cat closely after giving him or her a few drops of it. If the reaction to it seems to be normal and no discomfort found then it is alright, your cat is not allergic to it. If you find that your cat is allergic you should take your cat to the vet already. 

Can Cats Drink Cashew Milk?

Cashew itself is bad for cats. Cats are obligate carnivores which means they need meat which is high in protein. They do not need to eat plant based diets. They do not feel the need for them to keep living on. That is why they also do not require cashews for survival too. Cats can be allergic to cashews. 

Cashews milk, almond milk, soy milk are becoming popular as many people are lactose intolerant. Cashew milk can impose allergic reactions to your cat. It will be a very bad scenario and there will be much hassle. Cashew milk also contains a lot of calories and fats. Your cat may not have the digestive system to filter all those fats and calories. 

A few drops of this milk occasionally to a non-allergic (to cashews) cat will be fine and has less chance in impacting a long lasting harm. However, I recommend that you should consult your vet first about giving your cat cashew milk. It is best to avoid it.

Soy milk is not a good choice for your feline friends. So you should not give your cat soy milk. If you have already given your cat a few drops then it is okay. But if your cat has consumed huge amounts, take him to the vet. 

Though soy milk does not consist of lactose but it does contain various anti nutritional factors. Cats are not good at digesting soy milk. That is why drinking this can make your cat have diarrhea and vomiting. Even when you have given just a few drops you should check up on her to see if she is having any problems.

While your  cat may get stomach problems after consuming almond milk or soy milk or cashew milk there is one other milk that you may give to your cat which will not cause stomach upset. 

It is cat milk. This is the only safe milk. However, you can not give it in huge amounts. Once in a week ( one cup) is enough. An average ten pounds cat will only require 200 calories a day. Cat milk covers up half of that. That is why if you keep giving your cat cat milk everyday, he or she will likely be getting fat and become obese overtime. Once your cat has become obese, he or she will face even more complicated health problems which will need serious medical solutions. 

That is why it is better to give your cat cat milk in moderation. If your cat is not prone to milk then you need not worry and try to give him or her some milk.

Consulting with your vet is always a very good option. If your cat has a tendency to drink milk even though it makes him or her sick then you should look for alternatives.
