We live in Texas and every summer we fight fleas. I’ve tried over 50 flea drop products, sprays, yard treatments but living out in the country the fleas always win! I have a white boxer and white terrier and chihuahua and they go outside for five minutes and come back covered with fleas! It doesn’t help that we live by lakes and wooded areas but I was about to give up when I ordered this dip! It killed the fleas AND keeps them off. We dip every 7 days and the dogs aren’t itching anymore and they play outside and come in and all I find are dead fleas now! I bought drops along with the dip but this is week two and I still haven’t used the drops! I highly suggest you purchase this dip! My chihuahua has dry skin and has no issues with this dip at all….. best Adams product out there!!!

my poor kitten got infested with fleas tried almost everything nothing seemed to work was told by a vet about this product and how to properly use it for both me an my cats health and safety.. after I dipped my cat I could see the fleas full off and die for about an hour.. she so much happier now I will treat her again in a week she should be flea free by then.. OH! no bad odor and no, she didn’t get sick or die from licking herself…

I purchased this item due to the high reviews. I didn’t look at the negative reviews where multiple people stated this product made their pet sick. Shortly after using this product my cat began to breathe weird and start making choking noises. She vomited, became lethargic and had a high fever. I tried giving her fluids but she would start choking. I had to take my baby to the vet in order to maker her better. Shes been almost a week and she still have difficulty breathing. I have since learned that pyrethrinis very safe in dogs; however, cats are unable to metabolize it . This item should be removed from Amazon and no longer advertised for cats. ALSO I used this item on my dog and while it did not make him sick it did nothing for the fleas.

I have tried everything under the sun to get the fleas and ticks off of my two dogs, one a boxer, the other a weenie dog. I have used flea & tick sprays, topical treatments, essential oils, and everything else I could think of. I felt bad for my dogs because they were constantly scratching, and were absolutely miserable. I was asking around about other things to try and a friend mentioned using a dip, as this was what he did with his dogs. I looked around for a good dip to use, and came upon this one so I figured I would give it a shot. After following the directions to use 4-ounces per gallon, I mixed up a batch in an old water jug and used a washcloth to sponge the mixture on. I made sure to not get the liquid close to the eyes, but paid special attention to armpits and the belly area to get rid of all the fleas. It has been a little over a week now, and we are still flea-free on both dogs. I am going to put a topical treatment on as a preventative, but the dogs are much happier now. This stuff works!

Gosh:( I hate writing negative reviews! But,…here goes. I ordered this product as my dog had a major flea problem. I followed the directions on the bottle, and NOT ONE SINGLE FLEA was killed!😩It’s almost like I used plain water to try to kill fleas!? This was the 1st flea dip product to not work at all. Maybe it was a “bad batch” or something?🤷‍♀️ Sorry for the bad review, but honesty is the best policy.

So my dog has been having the worst issues when it comes to fleas and i live in a tropical island where it feels like Flea season all year round. And my pup was full of them all of the time. I cried every time i had to comb them out and or applied every naturalRemedy i have tried since his skin is sensitive. Not to mention flea shampoo only brought more of them. Then i watched a groomers video on a dog that had fleas and used this product. That it was a pesticide but when used with caution it was effective. Me already have spent thousands of dollars in years just to have my pup flea free for once in his life ( and yes i even treated the entire house) i said hey if the groomer said it whats another $20.I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE SHOCKED AT THE RESULTS! my dog was nearly flea free after first use. And his skin was unbothered. After a fullMonth of use he was flea free. My pup had never been happier and me as well. 1000/ 10 recommend.

I am a professional groomer and I go back when dips were used regularly. They worked but EPA put a stop to them for professional use. You could still use them at home however. Then the spot on type products came on the scene and we forgot dips. I was never comfortable with these very powerful products being used and even tho I used them I was afraid to put them on my elderly pets (17 year old). Recentlly my dog got fleas from the garden and I used spot on 3 months consecutive and no results. I became desperate ! I decided to try dip again, and I am happy to report that my little pom has been flea free for 3 weeks. I recommend this product and I also trust it. Zodiac company has been around a long time.

My order arrived today and I used it immediately! I have tried countless other products. This by far has had the best results. There were several dead fleas in the drained water. I submerged both my dogs all the way (aside from their heads). Both of them seem far less agitated with bites, are itching less and seem more relaxed. No other product I’ve used has had results as good. I definitely recommend this product!! I also gave each dog a Capstar to kill anything that may have survived the wash. I previously bought Capstar at the vet believing it was only available through them. Then I found it for sale on Amazon!! The price was far less than what I paid at the vet. I believe using this dip though is what has really done the trick!!

IF YOU ARE A CAT OWNER KNOW THAT I SOO RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT. SIZE IS MORE THAN ENOUGHT TO DO 2 dips for bottle ❤️. I OWN 4 cats (2 of them with long hair) and recently got a fleas infection (cons of living in a first floor and having cats that like to be hanging out in the balcony), been looking like crazy for something to get rid of them and I finally found it❤️ Got it three days ago, dipped my cats the first night and LITERALLY COULDNT BELIEVE HOW MANY THEY HAD, waited a day and then DIP THEM AGAIN HUGE DIFFERENCES WENT FROM TAKING OVER 2 docens out to taking 2 ONLY AND THEY BOTH WERE DEATH 😍😍😍😍 I am so in love with this product 😍 perfect for my Maine coons long hair❤️

Our dogs fur began falling out in clumps and he was itching and biting at himself, his skin was red from the constant scratching and biting. I ordered this product and after the first application he is doing so much better. This product does not kill fleas, it’s for mites. The odor isnt as bad as i thought it was going to be. I did a Google search and found that 1 tbsp of the lime sulfur dip concentrate can be mixed with 16 oz of water.

I have a rescue puppy who had a horrible skin infection. She has had three cycles of Simplacef, apoquel prescription shampoo and no relief. After just two sulfur dips she finally has relief. I have spent so much on vet bills trying to get her help. This stuff stinks but it works!

Stinky but works! Its a concentrate, you dilute it. Im hoping to get enough treatments out of my bottle to rid my pup and home of whateer is eating him. Its not fleas. Ita got to be some sort of mite, walking dandruff. But after 1 treatment my dog was itch free for the first time in a long time. I thought it was allergies, he is on grain free food. He wears a seresto collar. But he was getting worsening itch, dandruff and it kept him and us up at night. Terribly annoying for him and us during the day. I finally decided to treat him with an all purpose infestation treatment. This was a really good choice! I took all his bedding up and washed in in hot water and vacuumed. But hes still going to pick up a few stragglers since i did not treat the entire house. I dipped him, 5 days ago and it says to do it again in 5 to 7 days. Hes a little itchy at times but nothing like the constant scratching and licking from before. Maybe one more treatment will do the trick!

Dad uses this for dogs he doesn’t buy anything online he spends much money at stores so I bought this threw this threw amazon loved the price and I have bought things before for him

This does kill fleas

I live in an area that is wooded and populated with several beast large and small. I use this product to ward off nagging pests like mosquitoes, ticks, flies, and other insects that get through the screens. It is not-at-all effective on stink bugs.

The thickness of the cream allowed a small amount to stretch over a greater area. The cream immediately soothed the raw areas where our cat had dug at her ears and head and ultimately healed her wounds. By time we got her to the vet there was no longer an issue. We also used it on our dog’s contact dermatitis from a grass allergy. Great stuff!

This works great! I foster for a cat rescue and we have been fighting ringworm for MONTHS. It has gotten to point that lime Sulphur dips have become impossible due to the cats going nuts when it time to dip them. I tried the cream and it’s so much easier to get onto the cats affected areas (especially when it’s on the face which can’t be dipped) and it’s made a huge improvement on everyone after a couple weeks. My only wish is that it came in a bigger size.

My dog has had itchy skin for a really long time and nothing worked to relieve him. He lost his hair on his backside and tail but since we started using this product his coat isn’t hard and crusty and his hair is slowly growing back and he isn’t itching as badly. I’m hoping he’ll get half of his hair back by summer he was a rescue and he’s ten years old he’s a Pekingese. I will purchase this product again and a little goes a long way.

So when you read the product description on this page. You will find that there is a safety warning. Simply stating that you should read the package fully.Sure glad I did! Turns out according to the state of California. One of the ingredients in this shampoo is known to CAUSE CANCER. In humans or animals? Or both? The bottle did not say. It did however state that the fumes this shampoo creates are HAZARDOUS! Also it said that I should use rubber gloves to wash my dog. Because this shampoo could cause a serious skin reaction….If it can do that much damage to me. WHAT WILL IT DO TO MY DOGS?!So I chose not to use this. And go back to the good ole Dawn dish soap cure.Don’t put this poison on your pet!!!

My bottle arrived with a leak but even if it wasn’t leaking I still would’ve returned it. Forget being safe for pets this stuff is harmful to everyone and everything, sure it’ll kill fleas but its also going to kill your pet.

They hated the process, but the results are undeniable: While rinsing the shampoo out of the fur, dead fleas were washed into the tub and, most importantly, my cats went from going crazy, running around in agony to their peaceful selves in less than an hour. They also now look and smell nice. :)That being said, this shampoo alone won’t rid us from fleas. I’m currently in the process of cleaning the entire house, washing/treating any soft surfaces the cats may have sat on, and I’m expecting another Amazon delivery of flea spray (to spot-treat rugs, couches, etc) as well as flea bombs. It’s a process.

Gave up on spot on treatments, our fleas have become immune. Went to find this powder that we used many many years ago. Please to find it still works. You don’t have to use a heavy dose of powder on cats, a light dusting, then the fleas were gone after second treatment done on the second week. We now only dust them once per month. We use the foot section from a pantyhose with the powder inside, tied off into a powder filled puff that fits inside your palm. We rub the puff across their fur, then stroke it in with our hands. Use with caution at first, we found that one of our cats does have a very severe allergy, causing seizures. The other cats do not have an allergy, and now are completely free of fleas. Our cats are indoor/outdoor cats that come & go as they please.

I have 5 cats (2 @ 1 yr & 3 over 10). I was have a terrible time with fleas (they are 100% indoor cats) using spot treatments monthly. I stumbled upon this one day while shopping for flea control & I can’t say enough good things about the powder. I’ve been using an old blush brush & empty foundation container to use for application. Cats don’t seem to mind at all & I think they actually enjoy me using the brush. No cat foams from the mouth like with spot ons. Also I wait to reapply when I see them start to scratch – for me this is usually around the 60-day mark.Give it a try. For the price you can’t go round. Highly recommend

Tried this on my dog today, and it was about as effective as using your mother’s baby powder to kill fleas. I checked him only two hours after applying it, and he was still INFESTED with fleas. Today, fleas have developed such a tolerance to poisons that even the most powerful spray I tried was utterly ineffective. Only the fleas you directly saturate die, but the dozens of others still on your dog and in your carpet immediately return as though you didn’t do anything, freely enjoying drinking your dog’s blood, and your’s, too. A complete waste of time and money. If you want something that really REALLY WORKS, is cheap, totally effective, and non-toxic to both humans and pets, just buy some “Food Grade” Diatomaceous Earth, and sprinkle it on your home carpet, even directly on your dog. In a couple of hours ALL THE FLEAS AND TICKS IN YOUR HOME AND DOG ARE DEAD, AND THEY STAY DEAD. I’ll never buy these highly toxic products again… ever.

After reading reviews posted here, I was dreading the arrival of this product because I was CERTAIN the reported stench would lead to certain gagging and vomiting. So many clowns posted reviews of “WILL NOT USE AGAIN. IT SMELLS TOO BAD”, etc. Yet almost universally all agree IT WORKS.I just finished dipping a newly adopted kitten (ringworm, thank you) with this product, per instructions and post Q&A with my vet of 20 years (who said he doesn’t use it because it’s a hassle and it smells too bad – although he DID agree it is very effective and safe). Here’s the thing: As it has only been minutes since I did this thing, I cannot give personal experience on efficacy. But having read the reviews about the smell and not being of fan of bad smells, I’d like to make a few points. If you have a dog or a cat or a horse or a pig or a child — or if you didn’t just get plucked from a lifetime in a field of roses, THIS WILL NOT BE THE WORST THING YOU HAVE SMELLED IN YOUR LIFE.Hell. It’s not the worst thing I’ve had to smell TODAY.It’s not sunshine and kittens. But it damn sure isn’t ringworm and kittens.Man-up and get a little perspective. It’s not like huffing the smell of death. This was a cake walk compared to what I expected. Now I just hope it works as reported.

I used the Dechra LimePlus Dip on my 2 month old kitten. It is NOT as bad smelling as everyone claims; It does smell like sulfur but not super strong. I mixed and used the product outside I applied it to my kitten with a cotton ball only to the areas that had the ringworm. I used a tweezer to hold the cotton ball because the solution does turn your nails yellow and make your hands smell bad. After I locked my kitten up in a carrier for about 30 minutes until the solution dries once its dried I let her out and she didn’t smell horrible nor did she stink up the house. The one thing is I made sure to keep her off the bed. The Dechra LimePlus Dip is a lot cheaper than what the vet recommends and it works well. A few days after applying twice a day my kitten was fine, and healing well.

My 8 yr old French Mastiff has always had skin allergies and fur problems. Then he acquires ring worm which was horrible. The first picture is actually not that bad unless you zoom in and see some spots on the back. It had spread all through his tummy and he was miserable. We called around for the cost of dipping a larger canine and it was clearly out of our budget. My niece is a vet tech and suggested an at home dip along with an ointment. I did a little research and figured I had nothing to lose. His skin started to clear up within DAYS. I was impressed. For his size (over 100lbs ) one bottle worked but could have used a second. The smell was no worse than a stinky poop or diaper that lingers for a bit. Not a big deal when you consider the benefits. Very pleased with this product. Second picture is about a month later and his skin had cleared up nicely.

This really helped us get rid of my dogs demodex mange. The old vet said id need to buy some $60 brand new pill that isnt even cleared for use with mites every 3 months. Well that sounded like BS to me so i went online, got this and a oral product (I think it was for heartworms but works for mange too) and knocked it out in under a month. I sprayed down her bed and dipped her once a week (with it greatly diluted). Now immediately after it looked like the mange was mostly gone and her hair was coming back I started giving her natural supplements to boost her immune system and all that good stuff. When i went back to the vet at the end of the month and asked for another scraping she was good to go and i haven’t seen any signs of mange since. She did get fleas about a month ago so I pulled this out again and sprayed the entire house down. I didnt dip her and just added some to her shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing her. A week later I didn’t see any fleas or get bit by any. The shampoo wasn’t even flea shampoo btw

Well, I am disappointed… I was hoping it would work well. We have a flea problem in the yard, and because of the squirrels and wild animals it is impossible to get rid of them all, even when spraying. I have a dog that is allergic and they love her pale skin, and she is miserable. I hoped this dip would work on her, but it did not. Some fleas died, some did not. I did not towel dry, I did everything I was instructed. I was hoping for more potency I guess.

I did a search on Amazon for cat flea dip, and ordered this product. While reading the instructions I find back on the last page it says do not use on cats , it may kill them. The product may be OK for it’s intended use, I don’t know , I can’t use it. The front label should say “NOT FOR CATS”.

The bottle says it would stink…. It does. What the bottle didn’t say is that the spray nozzle would come apart in your hand the first time you use it so it will get all over you. That’s great… Especially since the stuff stinks to high heaven. Not even sure the stuff works.

Not sure if it works. If you use it on a cat – hang on to the cat. After the first spray the cat is gone. Dogs probably are more calmer. It stains and smells but that is expected with sulphur products. The sprayer clogged after two uses and became unusable. I think a gel or salve base would work better for cats.

The past 3 Years have been a nightmare for my old loving 3 dogs, each late spring here comes the Mange on each one – they scratch themselves almost raw all summer. We’ve tried product after product with little help, yet after 3 days into this item changes seem near amazing, it recommends we do it daily for the first week, so time still awaits, yet overall the health is much better and their itching is only a fraction now, we will follow there directions and for those with mange problems this product, except it’s 30 minutes of bad smell is quite remarkable so far.

I’m not sure this product does anything more than ordinary hair shampoo for people. As I shampoo a pet, I can’t resist catching and killing as many fleas as possible after lathering the shampoo into their coat. I’ve noticed with another brand that there seems to be many fewer live fleas for me to catch and kill. With any shampoo, the fleas movements are limited just due to the fact that the foam and liquid makes it much more difficult for them to move and especially to jump. I’m going to experiment with human hair shampoo for my next pet bath. Not sure these expensive products can do any better.

Our Saint Bernard decided to let space for a entire colony of fleas without checking with us about it first! What a nightmare, but probably more for him than for us. Regular dog shampoo, and even plain old dish soap did not do the trick as the fleas would end up swimming around in the soapy water. I had a hard enough time trying to keep my poor pooch in the tub, and I didn’t have enough hands to reign in the little swimmers that would try to escape to live an bite another day. This shampoo killed this fleas as they came into contact with the lather/ soapy water AND got rid of the “flea dirt” which is just a more acceptable term for poop. I could concentrate on really working the shampoo into his entire coat and the difference in the amount of fleas that were killed was 10 fold. This stuff is great!

the listed ingredients for this product are Pyrethrin: 0.045 percent and Lanolin. no where in the product description did it say that it contained piperonyl butoxide which I’ve read can be toxic to both cats and pregnant women. well the whole reason i brought this product was because it said it was safe to use on cats but now I’m not so sure i want to use this on my cats, so i’ve just spent about 9.00 for something I’ll probably end up throwing away. maybe this chemical can be classified as “safe” in certain quantity’s but i won’t take that risk. i won’t give this product a low rating simply because i choose to be cautious but it would have been nice to be able to view the whole ingredient list on the product page before buying this stuff. oh well i have a few friends who have dogs and are not pregnant, so maybe I’ll see if they can use it and i guess I’ll keep looking for something that will work for me and my cats.

Works wonderful the kinda of mint or smell is strong use in open or vented bathroom I was able to wash all 4 cats still have about little over a quarter of a bottle left yes it is like water however it works really well. It rinses off really nice to.

I have seven cats who all go outside. I don’t use any flea products on them on a daily basis. I just Flea brush them a lot during flea season. I have one who will start to get scabs and needs a bath once in a while to prevent them This product works great, ut has a nice scent and the cats come out smelling nice a their coats are sginy. They all like the smell and feeling clean. The product is very mild and I find it works best if I don’t rinse too thoroughly and it gives good protection against flea eggs.

Some natural shampoos dont work for my cats when it comes to fleas but this one works great! Especially when they have so much hair, I use a good amount & they all come out doing the rinse.

If you can’t get rid of ringworm or mange here is your farty smelling solution. Make sure to follow the directions perfectly and get lots of Qtips and cotton balls for the sensitive areas of your angry ungrateful fur ball. I also bought some dishes gloves because I promise this is not something you want on you. I also would suggest putting a hole in a garbage bag and wearing it like a poncho because animals do this selfish thing when they are wet and shake off only when they are right up by you. As if to tell you “I hate you and you’re smelling like this too”. And don’t be tempted to abort mid mission because you need to be thorough and it has to have sitting time to work. And for the love of God don’t rinse off just lightly dab. Its a process you don’t want to repeat. So just bite the bullet and do it right the first time or you will have a mad little yellow horrendously smelling creature walking around your house for longer. Get a cone collar too.. Keeps them from licking… And while its slightly evil to say they just look funny with one on and its a little satisfying to see given how your animal will turn on you during this process like Old Yeller post rabies. Your house or at least a wing of it will smell like the house itself let one rip. I used Scentsy like they were going out of style and its just smelled like that with fart or rotten egg under tones. Odoban helped a little plus disinfects which helps with ringworm in your house. Do it outside whenever possible!Good luck peeps… You will need it!

DO THIS OUTSIDE IN A FENCED YARD ON A HOT DAY!!!2. Put out the tarp3. Place plastic container on tarp4. Mix lime sulfur 4 oz to 1 gallon of water (I used 2 gallons and half the bottle)5. Give dog a bath inside and put the Vet cone collar on dog6. Put dog outside7. Get dressed inside with prepared clothing8. Put long sleeve shirt inside the gloves and duct tape them9. Leave the dog outside till he driesDon’t bath the dog again till you can’t stand the smell anymore (2 to 3 days). Wash bedding in Borax. If you have to repeat this wait 5 to 7 days and keep it up till the parasites are gone. The good news is the smell goes away once it dries so you can reuse all the things you bought for the dipping except may-be the Poncho. Cover the container so you can reuse the dip. Good Luck.

My aunt’s dog went from completely bald, raw and itching skin for years. They even thought about putting her to sleep. The vet kept prescribing shampoo that never worked. I bought this and shipped it to her asap. It’s been two months and her furbaby’s hair is finally growing back and the itching is almost gone! Miracle product thank you!!

Go outside and grab the dog10. Hold him in the mix and saturate him11. Avoid his eyes12. Sponge his muzzle a lot13. Let the dog go14. Remove whatever got the wet and put it in the trash bag15.

So, yes, it does smell like rotten eggs or a geyser in Yellowstone. And yes, it is a shocking shade of rust orange. But it works! My cat has feline leukemia, and when we rescued a ferrel long-haired kitten, this beautiful golden nugget brought us more than just love – he brought ringworm. We’ve been “dipping” twice a week (all the cats in the house), and while it’s not the most pleasant, it’s not awful. Used in conjunction with oral agents (Itraconazole liquid or Lamisil tablets; go to GoodRx dot com if you need help affording oral lamisil), we’ve seen significant improvement. My nails get stained during the bath, but they soon return to normal. Orange-tinged fur returns to normal. Our towels haven’t stained, nor has the porcelain of the tub – but I make sure to rinse everything thoroughly after use. Here are my tips:1. My vet recommends 8 oz. to every one gallon warm water. No one wants a cold dip!2. Make the environment pleasant. I heat up the bathroom with a space heater, have plenty of towels on the floor for quick access and soft landings, and make sure to keep calm and confident. The cats can tell!3. I dip them in a Sterilite plastic tote, approx, 60qt. I put half of the gallon on the bottom, and have another 1/2 gallon in a pour container. Use the “scruff” method to help calm and control your fur ball, and place them gently in the warm basin. Make sure you palpate their paws to expose their claws to the solution, as ringworm can hide! Drizzle, rub, and gently pour the solution over the fur, all the while telling your cats how much you love them and they’re worth it. I use a washcloth to get better coverage and permeation.4. They may howl, meow, or look terrified – but none of my cats have ever hissed or become violent. Be careful though – they may try to climb you like a tree to escape the water. So watch their claws!5. The head is tricky. Tip their head back and use a washcloth to gently rub the solution on the fur around their whiskers, mouth, ears, and eyes – making sure the solution doesn’t go in. Some recommend using a toothbrush for this, but I found a soaked washcloth works better for me. Make sure you get the inner and outer aspects of their ears.6. Don’t panic if they lose fur during the process! Because ringworm lives in the hair follicles, shedding is a natural part of the healing process (it’s also a ringworm symptom, so expect loose hairs or patchy loss). Make sure you brush before the bath and after they’re dried to control the location of the hair loss, and keep the environment clean. You may also notice scaly skin (like the world’s worst dandruff), but it will get better! Vacuum, swiffer, and chlorox wipes are your friend.Good luck! It’s a struggle, but it’s doable. My fur-amily is completely worth it!

This is an awesome way to treat pesky skin parasites and resolve itchiness issues. There are many pet brands on the market, but Vetoquinol is one of the best. If you are looking for this item there is absolutely no doubt it will be the best of the best. This relieves itchy skin, and irritations. It’s best if you apply this consistently at consistent times. Some people dip but you can also dilute it and spray it with a very gentle mister. This was advice given to me by the head of a really cool rescue, and it was wonderful! Will absolutely keep this in my growing kitty medication arsenal. If this review has been helpful to you in any way, please click yes. 🙂

This stuff STIIIINNNNKKKS! It smelled up with whole house with a foul, rotten egg scent. My poor cat sat in a bucket full of this stuff looking absolutely miserable. I used it to get rid of an ongoing flea issue. We literally tried everything before this, even the veterinarian prescribed stuff. None of it worked. The lime sulfur did. However, I had to keep her submerged from the neck down while I picked off the fleas as they climbed on her head/around her eye area. It was a nightmarish 20 minute ordeal and the towels that I used to dry her off with had to be immediately washed. I accidentally left them in the washing machine (with the lid closed) anticipating that I would get to them the next day. I awoke to a laundry room filled with that deplorable egg scent. I have a calico with white patches and none of her fur came out temporarily stained after the wash. She did end up licking herself to high heaven afterwards and did not feel sick or sluggish, so it’s totally safe for pets.
