Please do not use this on elderly or infirm cats. Some cats are very sensitive to pyrethrin one of the active ingredients in this product. There are other less problematic materials. My cat had a seizure while I was drying her off, and died in a matter of a minute or two. I wish I had done more research before selecting this product. I had always used fipronil in the past with no problems, but it was not working so I tried this in an effort to combat some tough fleas. RIP Moo.

Do yourself a favor and learn from my mistake and don’t put this poison on your cat. With in 10 minutes of getting out of the bath she got severely disoriented and started having trouble breathing. She then went into respiratory depression and then shortly there after cardiac arrest. I gave her cpr for 20 minutes and she was just gone. That was the most horrible thing I have ever been through and I hope nobody else has to go through what I just went through. Now my whole family is absolutely devastated!

Wish I could do zero or negative stars. This stuff killed my dog. My dog was perfectly healthy, used this one time and within 3 days he was dead. The day I used it he started looking weak and sick. The next day he refused to eat then he was dead. There was absolutely nothing wrong with my dog before this product. DO NOT BUY THIS. After doing research, I found that this product has been recalled. Amazon should not even be selling this product. Very upset with this product and will never buy anything from Adams company ever again.

I just bought this and used it ONCE on my female cat age 6 on monday (it’s sunday now) and this occurred:1. she hates baths but let me use it and it’s like blood was coming off her skin from scratching i assume? and after i rinsed her off she acted weird but i dried her off and thought nothing of it (huge huge mistake)2. she seemed fine after being dry and did not scratch, and ate/went litter fine and drank waterLast night which was Saturday July 14, i heard a weird noise from downstairs and we assumed she got a mouse or something so we left her be. Well, HORRIBLE mistake, i wake up this morning and she is laying at the bottom of the stairs. She did not look okay. My kids were hysterical and crying as was I considering she seemed fine before. We went to see if she was okay and no she wasn’t. She died! 🙁 We really think along with a few friends opinions that this product had some chemicals in it that are not safe for cats and that it somehow poisoned her through her skin. A refund won’t do anything to help my situation at all. I plan to throw it away today and never ever shop from this brand again. I will be calling their office first thing tomorrow morning about this and see what they will/can do to help the situation. I am happy to send the product to an office for testing to see if it is a bad batch. I refuse to risk my other 2 cats life to use this.

DO NOT BUY!!! NO RETURNS!!! This will make your animal smell mediciny listerine!!! This product is oily and does not lather-up at all, doesn’t clean the fur. This stuff smells so bad it repels people, other animals and the fleas don’t care because they still stay on the pet. MOST fleas will shampoo off a cat & dogs coat from the much cheaper flea shampoo you can buy for $3 – $4 at WalMart or dollar stores. Please dont spend $10 (incl tax) for this product to do more harm than good! You can wash almost all fleas out with any soapy liquid that will lather-up. Soapy liquid (not this smelly stuff) suffocates the fleas and the stubborn ones can be removed by combing with a flea comb. THERE’S NO RETURNS OFFERED FOR THIS AWFUL PRODUCT!!!!! WHAT A HUGE WASTE OF MY HARD- EARNED MONEY. DANG!

This product only demobilizes fleas for a short time. You are then left with the tedious task of brushing them out, which is very difficult and time consuming to do thoroughly and you better get every last one or they are certain to come raging back. My vet admits that there are no effective flea shampoos. They recommended a topical treatment “frontline” that they guarantee to work.

PYRETHRINS ARE TOXIC TO CATS AND THIS SHOULD NOT BE USED ON ANYONES CAT. Its a shame that pet products are not held to the same safety standards as humans.

Giving a cat a bath is a nightmare for both the person and the animal. To be so desperate to get rid of fleas to go through the process and then still fleas!!! I was worried about my boy as he was very lethargic afterwards. I bought this because I wanted something that was safe for cats. I don’t think this is safe for cats. If my cat died right now, it would be the end of the world for me. There are so many flea products out there that are useless!!! Stop selling them!

This shampoo and the corresponding flea treatment almost killed my kitten. I bought it thinking it was a cheap alternative to name brands and that they would all work the same. This cheap alternative gave my kitten neurological tremors, she became lethargic and appeared to be in pain. I ended up with a very expensive vet lesson about safe products for cats. These ingredients contain toxins that are extremely dangerous for our pets. I highly recommend you don’t buy this brand at all.

So when you read the product description on this page. You will find that there is a safety warning. Simply stating that you should read the package fully.Sure glad I did! Turns out according to the state of California. One of the ingredients in this shampoo is known to CAUSE CANCER. In humans or animals? Or both? The bottle did not say. It did however state that the fumes this shampoo creates are HAZARDOUS! Also it said that I should use rubber gloves to wash my dog. Because this shampoo could cause a serious skin reaction….If it can do that much damage to me. WHAT WILL IT DO TO MY DOGS?!So I chose not to use this. And go back to the good ole Dawn dish soap cure.Don’t put this poison on your pet!!!

My bottle arrived with a leak but even if it wasn’t leaking I still would’ve returned it. Forget being safe for pets this stuff is harmful to everyone and everything, sure it’ll kill fleas but its also going to kill your pet.

They hated the process, but the results are undeniable: While rinsing the shampoo out of the fur, dead fleas were washed into the tub and, most importantly, my cats went from going crazy, running around in agony to their peaceful selves in less than an hour. They also now look and smell nice. :)That being said, this shampoo alone won’t rid us from fleas. I’m currently in the process of cleaning the entire house, washing/treating any soft surfaces the cats may have sat on, and I’m expecting another Amazon delivery of flea spray (to spot-treat rugs, couches, etc) as well as flea bombs. It’s a process.

We had so much trouble with fleas. We bath, we put on flea meds and we fleas comb daily. Nothing seemed to stop them.Washed the dogs with the shampoo. Not a scratch was heard in house! Ahhhhhhhhhh

What I learned from using this product is reading the instructions and leave the shampoo on your pet for at least 5 min before rinsing and use a flea comb and tweezers to pick off the ones running towards the face. The product works well but you should shampoo your pet a week later to rid the eggs and survors.

I’m not sure what happened to advantage flea shampoo, but the bottle that I just received and the one I received in my last order were both as thin as water. There are no thickeners whatsoever in this shampoo! All the other bottles that I have ever had of this shampoo were thick and rich like shampoo should be. The last two bottles that I received have been like water! Someone in the ivory tower said, “Oh, I have an idea, let’s make a perfectly cylindrical bottle, slippery when wet, and then fill it with something like water posing as shampoo.” When the bottle tips over because your hands are wet, out goes the expensive shampoo down the drain. At least if it had thickeners and it like it used to have, there are a few seconds to catch it before you lose any. As expensive as the shampoos are, I don’t want to going down the drain because it is as thin as water.Advantage! What gives!?? What happened to the thickener?? Have I just received a defective bottles two times in a row?? Or is this the new thing? If it is the new thing, I am done with it.It has always worked well for me before, and I would have given it five stars because it does work well, but with it being so thin, it’s ridiculous!

I have been fighting fleas since May 2019. It’s now April 2020. I have tried so many things’s not even funny. I’ve flooded the yard. Restricted where my dog goes when outside. Flea bombed the entire house. All while using store-bought flea medicines and soaps and applying on a regular schedule (except for cats where I have been doing topical drops)I even did dawn dish soap per a friend who has a disabled cat sanctuary. These fleas have been the absolute bane of me. I have combed them out for hours on all animals and plucked quite a few as well. I am just so exhausted. Have mostly black cats and a corgi makes it hard to see most of them. Finally I used the shampoo on the dog and though I’ll need to do it again, there is a remarked improvement. Corgi’s have double coats (husky dogs have triple) so it is hard to lather it in real good. But even after my corgi’s bath in the drain stopped–tons of dead fleas. Absolutely tons. They usually hang on the understand and groin area of my dog. Soaping that was violating af for the both of us but to see those dead fleas I felt so much better and less like a pervert.I have one white cat. I applied the soap onto of it and it was dead in seconds. I lathered the cat down (cats who I have had to sit down and shave some of their fur down not to bald though) just to try and make it easier for me to comb and pick out fleas. I saw roughly 4 fleas going into this bath today.I watched 15 full adults go down the drain. And I couldn’t be happier.Thank god for this product or I’d be absolutely in heck right now. At the beginning of this, I had them in my bed and was getting chewed on—turns out I’m allergic to fleas LOL FML.Now me and my animals won’t suffer <3 worth every single penny

A great buy and glad I did.1st bought oral meds. No luck2nd bought liquid you put on the back of the cats neck, again No luck.Bought this and worked great! All the fleas went right to the face after the bath. (Did not use on my two cats faces) after they calmed down i pulled off a ton of fleas that were located ONLY on their faces. The next day i saw 0 fleas on them. Their coats where so shinny and they where so super soft. Still are! Its like they went to a professional hair groomer! The pump bottle is great too. Specially when you have a cat in a bath and need to get soap easily. Its a big bottle too!

This is great. Fleas die instantly. They die in the tub and even when I blow dry they keep flying out. Use 1 time a week and works great. I have 4 dogs so its hard to keep them away from fleas surrounded by so many street cats. This is the only thing i will now be using.

My cat died after my sons washed him with this . We even rinsed him off after a couple of hours. He still smelt heavily of cloves. I’ve since found out that Cloves are deadly to cats. Causes liver damage and liver failure. If you value your cat’s life don’t purchase this. I’m so sorry that I did.

USED IT ON MY CAT AND FOUND HER DEAD THE NEXT DAY

I bought this for my cats. I called my vet to make sure these products are safe for felines. PEPPERMINT OIL IS HIGHLY TOXIC TO CATS. I will be returning these items. I would prefer to give zero stars because they should not be selling this product. Please read all the bad reviews before clicking Buy Now & always call your vet if in doubt.

I was very excited to receive my order, but this item just did not work out for us. Let me first say that the scent of this item is absolutely horrid. The thickness and consistency of this product was absolutely perfect. I don’t know if it would control fleas or not because when I used it on my cats they develop some sort of adverse reaction and I had to take them all to the vet. They became ill and we were not able to proceed with this product.

Ok so my cat is an indoor cat and super mischievous. He runs out anytime someone opens the door! He came back this time looking crazy. While cuddling I saw a flea on him for the first time and lost it🥴 I read so many reviews, and for me anything that takes the more natural approach is the option I’d choose. The reviews were good. I ordered this and the house spray. The prices were appealing too. So first I sprayed my home and furniture with the house spray and kept the cat in the hallway…I actually enjoyed the smell of the mint (both items smell identical) Then I gave him the foam bath in the hallway… I started seeing all these little red and black spots that just seemed to be dissolving immediately. That was reassuring. I hate bugs so I feel like I conquered a fear. I let the cat back in the house with the foam on and then sprayed the hallway and entrances down with the house spray… Guess who dried and was looking better but ran out again…. and came back this a.m. and I had to repeat the entire process. I have noticed he started itching again after coming from the hallway (one of his hangout spots) …. so I guess there was still fleas out there even after spraying… I put the foam on him and resprayed 🙏🏾🤞🏾Hoping this is our last go round…From the first results and how he’s behaving now makes me know its working… he’s currently self quarantining in the Amazon box… I do think as preventative measure i will get something like Frontline plus topical treatment as a preventative measure and some raid flea spray to spray at entrance n hallway but not in home. Anyways yall got 2 reviews for one… :)hope this helps you! The products are great and both are Neccessary to rid it entirely on cat and home.

The scent is nice and smells the same as the the furniture spray. Thing is, I’ve put this all over my cat and haven’t seen any dead fleas or fleas jump off as a result. I have no idea if it’s working. The only thing I can at least give it stars for is that it’s a lot easier to use than a spray cuz my pets are terrified of sprays. You spray the foam on you hand and pet them. Easy. At least it keeps them smelling nice?I’ve seen reviews talking about it being toxic and I can say that my pets aren’t dead but definitely monitor how much you put on them. I’ve noticed after applying, my cat shivers a while (maybe he’s scared or cold? I have no idea) and then is relatively tired afterwards (but I mean he’s a cat so sleeping often isn’t so weird).

This shampoo was so strong that it irritated my dog’s eyes and nose (she could not stop sneezing). And it irritated her skin too, made it very itchy and red. It was useless in getting rid of fleas. Would not recommend.

This is a useless product. It’s a joke. Don’t waste your money. The product doesn’t work at all on fleas. The vets who formulated this product must be a joke. Rip off!

The shampoo stinks. It doesn’t suds up unless you use a lot if shampoo. Hair did NOT feel soft and silky after drying.

I desperately ordered this in the summer because for whatever reason, that’s when the fleas attack. I was surprised to find that upon the initial bath, it killed 98% of the fleas. By the second bath, my dog was practically flea free. It didn’t leave a strong odor, at least for me

This shampoo does not work. It may pull active fleas off but it does nothing to deter them as it claims. We’ve given 3 baths with it in the last month and still find fleas on our pups. Don’t waste your money. Dawn will do just as good of a job removing active fleas.

DIDNT WORK! No fleas were falling off in the bath like they normally would, so I was confused. Started going through his fur with the flea comb afterwards and I did get some dead ones off him, but saw one that was still alive. It’s the next day and now he’s STILL SCRATCHING!I’ve already flea treated the room he’s being kept in, washed all blankets and toys, sprayed down anything that can’t be washed with flea spray, and vacuumed. So I’ve done my part, wish this shampoo would’ve done its part.. I was really hoping we’d be done with the fleas after this.

I got this product about a month ago and my cat wasn’t very happy when I used it but I didn’t see any reactions or anything that would prevent me from using it. 5 days ago my cat was found dead outside. He was a 10 years old perfectly healthy cat. I’m not sure if this was what caused but it’s too much of a coincidence. I’m devastated and I wish I could go back in time. So do yourself a huge favor and avoid going through the same pain that I’m going through.

In desperation, I bought this before doing enough research. This product can cause a lot of harm when applied to a cat’s fur and skin. Something that worked amazingly well for my cat and didn’t harm her was coconut oil applied topically. She hated being oily but the fleas will literally dropped dead as I rubbed it in. She had to put up with being oily for a couple days, but I cured her of fleas without putting anything toxic on her skin.If something is wrong with your pet don’t buy something out of desperation! Talk to a vet.

So let me start by telling you all the story to my horror. A few months ago we had a lot of storms and tornadoes in our area. My dear husband felt bad for the stray cat living near our house and decided while I was at work to bring her in. Apparently she had four kittens and after bringing her kittens home, he decided that we HAD to keep her until they were old enough to get rid of. We had one cat before this ordeal who got treated for fleas monthly and had never had a problem. The stray cat and kittens had fleas but my vet told me I couldn’t do anything to treat them due to the mom cat nursing and the kittens being too young. Fast forward – we find homes for all the kittens and the stray cat. So I notice my cat has terrible fleas. So I treat her with flea baths, flea collars, flea medicine.. the whole nine. NOTHING HELPS! it never occurred to me that my carpet and furniture could potentially be a issue … UNTIL both me and my cat are getting eaten alive by fleas and I was desperate. (For some reason the fleas we’re not attracted to my sweet beloved husband.) So I got a flea carpet powder which I then mixed with salt as I was told salt would help and let it sit on my carpet for 24 hours which helped tremendously. I ordered this in bulk and it arrived the day after. I went CRAZY on my house spraying EVERYTHING. AND IT KILLS THEM ALMOST IMMEDIATELY. this product is a blessing!! I even sprayed it on my cat and she is much happier as she now has relief from these horrendous fleas. It is amazing! I hate the smell of peppermint which this spray smells extremely strongly of, but the smell is definitely worth the relief of fleas. If you have a flea problem don’t question this, just buy it! You will thank yourself. I doubted weather it would work due to it being all natural, but FYI it does!

People complaining about the smell are way exaggerating. I used this on both of my cats 6 hours and didn’t find any live fleas when I combed them just now. Tried that dry shampoo crap and it didn’t do anything. Frontline didn’t do anything either.

Works very good for my cat, just need to follow directions!

I love the mild scent of this shampoo. Bathing my cats is always a chore, but this gives them a simple clean smell!

Works wonderful the kinda of mint or smell is strong use in open or vented bathroom I was able to wash all 4 cats still have about little over a quarter of a bottle left yes it is like water however it works really well. It rinses off really nice to.

I have seven cats who all go outside. I don’t use any flea products on them on a daily basis. I just Flea brush them a lot during flea season. I have one who will start to get scabs and needs a bath once in a while to prevent them This product works great, ut has a nice scent and the cats come out smelling nice a their coats are sginy. They all like the smell and feeling clean. The product is very mild and I find it works best if I don’t rinse too thoroughly and it gives good protection against flea eggs.

Some natural shampoos dont work for my cats when it comes to fleas but this one works great! Especially when they have so much hair, I use a good amount & they all come out doing the rinse.

This is what happened to our cat a day after we applied as directed. Our 16 year old, active cat went manic for a few days after the application and then crashed and spent days huddled in the basement. He hid from us in the darkest part of the basement. Two weeks after application and a trip to the Vet and he is just starting to be interested in eating and getting some attention from us again. His blood pressure went through the roof, he stopped eating and was like a zombie. He’s lost a lot of spunk. Our vet got him in better shape physically but he is not the same cat and we hope he comes back to his old self. At least he getting sleep and starting to eat. I don’t desire to be a alarmist and I know many animals benefit from having less parasites but our cat had a very bad experience with Frontline Plus, sorry. I would think long and hard about giving this to a geriatric animal. It was more horrible than I can say. This cat never had a product of this type applied. Update: It’s been quite a while since my review above but, I feel compelled to inform you about my completed experience with Frontline Plus for cats. The company that owns Frontline Plus for cats and who guarantees the customers satisfaction, refused to stand behind their product, even denying my Amazon invoice as proof of purchase because the package quantity on the invoice was somehow ambiguous to the customer service rep. After multiple calls and submissions they were completely uncooperative. I could care less about being refunded the cost of the product even though I spent 35 times it’s cost at the vet.I did not pursue it with Frontline because by that time my little buddy’s health was failing and he never recovered after using frontline. I buried him a little more than a month after the whole Frontline incident. I am not saying that the chemicals in frontline killed my cat directly but, that it exacerbated my old buddy’s demise.

Make sure after cutting off top and pulling back foil you read the product container to make sure it is for cats. I received 2 orders with the same lot #R41105AW and both were for Dogs weighing 45-88lbs. Notified Amazon and they have assured me that this product has beeen removed. Beware if you are purchasing from other sellers.

A few things to address when assessing this product and the other reviews:1) If you do some research on the internet, you will realize that different flea medications work better in different areas. Advantage did not work for us. Front line does. Just because this product may not work for your pet doesn’t mean it’s faulty or expired.2) If your pet already has fleas, this product takes at least three applications before it will start to work effectively. Our cat did have fleas and it took three applications. Fleas are no joke and always take time to get under control. Just because they don’t disappear overnight doesn’t mean it is faulty or expired.3) Fleas can become immune. Doesn’t mean the product is faulty or expired.4) It is toxic, obviously. There is a risk your pet could have a serious adverse reaction. It is a pesticide for goodness sake. You are taking a chance and weighing your options. It doesn’t make you a terrible person if you have circumstances where your pet having fleas would be terrible – like if you have a newborn or an infant and your pet is hellbent on going outside anyway. So there’s all that. With that being said, frontline is the only medication that works for us. We only use it half of the year and start it early enough to be effective by peak flea months, though the product recommends year round applications.

Both my cats got fleas really bad from my pit bull who’s an indoor/outdoor dog. This didn’t kill all the fleas, but combined with flea collars, oil treatments and regular home cleaning, we managed to get the fleas under control. It’s supposed to smell like coconut, and I guess it does a little bit but it also smells sort of like plastic. I imagine it would kill fleas better if you let it sit for a couple minutes before rinsing, but they’re cats so that’s way easier said than done.

Smells goooooood I love it and works a little

If flea care is needed beyond oral medication, then this works well in washing bot pet- and people-bedding.

Customer Reviews

I live in Texas and the ticks n fleas became problematic early this year. Although we treated the yard we were finding brown n blood ticks on our dogs. I found this product so on an off chance that it would help I purchased. Okay it won’t stop the ticks from attaching to my dog’s but if you put this on the tick’s before you pick them the dig it does kill them on contact and the ticks will dislodge them selves so I don’t have pull them out so there’s little pain to my beasties.

I really hate using chemical flea treatments on my dogs, so I purchased the entire line of TropiClean flea products after a friend told me about them. I use the shampoo, conditioner and the flea spray, and it works!! I bathe my dogs every two weeks or so and then maintain the flea control between baths with the flea spray. It smells wonderful, and really does the trick keeping fleas away. I live in Florida, so fleas, especially in the summer, are a terrible problem here. Even at the beach, there are sand fleas – there’s just no getting away from them. I really like the TropiClean products and don’t have to worry about putting too many chemicals on/in my dogs to keep them healthy.

This stuff is awesome! We keep getting a resurgence of fleas from our neighbors and have three pets (dog and two cats) in our apartment. We aren’t able to leave for an adequate time that would be safe for all of us and our unborn baby to be able to use a bomb. So, I saw this and ordered it. It’s natural, which I love, and it smells like orange peels and cloves (uh YUM!). Sprayed the carpets and furniture with it, and then our pets. Literally watched the fleas jump away from our fur babies’ bodies as I sprayed them down. The bottle is really big and will probably be good to use multiple times with our fur beasts and our 1100 sq ft apartment. I will update this in about a week to determine if this is a long term solution.
